Polygons
- Click on the 'Polygons' button to activate the tool.
- Take the mouse cursor on to the map and click once to start the polygon.
- Each subsequent click will add a point on the map.
- Double click to complete the polygon.
- An area measurement will be displayed at the bottom of the map.
- The tool will stay active allowing you to create another polygon.
- The tool can be deactivated by clicking on the 'Select Object' button or by choosing another drawing tool.
Lines
- Click on the 'Lines' button to activate the tool. Take the mouse cursor on to the map and click once to start the line. Each subsequent click will add a point on the map.
- Double left click to complete the line.
- A length measurement will be displayed at the bottom of the map.
- The tool will stay active allowing you to create another line.
- The tool can be deactivated by clicking on the 'Select Object' button or by choosing another drawing tool.
Land Registry Freehold Boundaries

Land Registry INSPIRE Polygons are derived from OS MasterMap data and may not display accurately on other map layers.
Land Registry polygons are updated on a monthly basis.
- Click on the 'Freehold Boundaries' button to activate the tool.
- Take your cursor on to the map and click once on the desired property or land parcel.
- The relevant freehold boundary will be displayed on the map and an area measurement displayed at the bottom of the map.
- If a Freehold Boundary is not display it means Land Registry do not hold a Freehold Boundary for that location.
- The tool will stay active allowing you to display another Land Registry Boundary.
- The tool can be deactivated by clicking on the Select Object button or by choosing another drawing tool.
Circles
- Click on the 'Circles' button to activate the tool.
- Take the mouse cursor on to the map and click once to create a circle.
- An area measurement in metres will be displayed at the bottom of the map.
Text label
- Click on the 'Text label' button to activate the tool.
- Take the mouse cursor on to the map and left click once to create a text label.
- Type your desired text, adjust the text size accordingly and click OK to create your text label. Once the text label has been created the cursor will change back to an arrow allowing the Text label to be moved.
Select Object
- This tool allows you to select any drawn item on the map excluding print frames.
- Click on the 'Select Object' button to activate the tool.
- Take the mouse cursor on to the map and left click once on the object that is to be selected.
- When selecting a Polygon, Line or Land Registry Boundary the object will activate and put a handle in the middle of the object allowing it to be moved.
- It will also allow the user to move any of the points that were used to create the object, just hold down the left mouse button on top of a point and drag it to the desired location on the map.
- When selecting a Circle, an Arrow or a Text label the object will activate and put a handle in the middle of it allowing you to move the entire object.
- It will also put a handle in the bottom right-hand side of the object which will allow the object to be increased or decreased in size when dragged diagonally.
Delete Object
- This tool allows you to delete unwanted drawn objects.
- Firstly select the unwanted object by using the 'Select Object' tool.
- Then click on the 'Delete Object' button or use the delete key on your keyboard to remove the object from the map.
